Winter Sale ~ 2012/2013

Well, another great sale! Actually, this sale is more than we could EVER imagine, and its all because of you. We can not thank any of you enough for what you have done. All of you who donated, has made 'Scones of Love' a real thing. Because of your generous giving, we were able to hold this sale, and we can now continue it. For those of you who aren't quite sure what I'm talking about, here's what happened:

We decided to do our sale at a bank in December. We wanted to make this a big sale, so we decided to ask some friends and family for $5-$10 donations to help cover the cost of ingredients and supplies. What we thought would stay within $5-$10, became more than we could imagine. People started donated 5's, 10's, 20's! At first, it just stayed between some friends and families, but then they started telling their friends, and then they told their friends, and then we were getting money from people we don't even know! Some of our relatives worked at the American Red Cross, and they were huge givers! A lady, who we actually got to go and meet, told her family about us, and they were so proud that they started giving. We raised over $500! $500! We could not believe it. That is enough for us to do over 5 sales! Once again, thank you to EVERYONE who gave to 'Scones of Love.' No matter how big or small, every little bit counted!

Next, We had to bake the scones, which we did at our church. Before we explain how it went, we would first like to thank the Church Woman's Ministry for letting us use the kitchen, it helped very much! We spent almost an entire day there, baking, baking, and, and baking! We were able to borrow some food processes, (Thank you very much to anyone who loand us them), which helped things go by a lot faster! Here are some pictures of our baking time...

We had one of our mom's there the whole time, along with one of our baby brothers. He was very patient, but eventually got hungry because when we turned our backs...

We made a total of 232 scones!
Our beautiful scones

 Our packaging of the scones...

We made a HUGE mess, which meant lots of clean up...

We took a picture before clean up, and then again after we cleaned up...
Before...
... and after

Then it was time to sell the scones. One of our local banks (who we would like to thank very much, your kindness and generosity was greatly appreciated) let us hold our sale there.

Set up was a breeze because they already had tables and chairs set up, thanks!

After two long sale days, and then another short sale at our church, we sold all of our scones, and made over $400! We were so thrilled! The next step was to pick out fabric for the blankets. We decided to donate to two hospitals, and give 20 blankets to each. We made 2 different designs for girls and 2 different designs for boys per hospital. It took us a little over a month to tie them all and even bought mini "Prayer Bears" to go with them.
We left early in the morning and we were gone all day! We made a stop at American Red Cross to thank them and brought them some of our famous scones. Then we headed over to Amplates Childrens Hospital and the Children's Hospital.

Our van full of blankets!

Our first stop was at Amplates...

....And then Children's

You had some extra young help. They were awesome because there were A LOT of blankets to carry in.

Well, that's the end of this sale! We had so much fun and can't thank any of you enough! None of this could have been possible with out all the love and support from so many of you. Our next sale will be in the summer, and we hope to be able to do this for a long time. God bless you all!
