Winter Sale~2014

We have done another wonderful sale! We held our sale at our towns annual High School Craft Sale on November 22, 2014. We had an incredible time and were once again blessed so much! Here is how everything went...
First, we had to make the scones. This time we decided to add some new flavors, including a gluten/dairy free kind. We made cinnamon, lemon, double chocolate, pumpkin spice, maple pecan, chocolate peppermint, and gluten/dairy free chocolate chip. They turned out delicious and we all had to admit that the gluten/dairy free ones were phenomenal and one of our new favorites!! Because last time we didn't sell all of our scones, we decided to only make about 300 scones, but ended up making a little over 400! We got to bake at our church and were there at about 9:00am-5:30pm. We got all of them done, except the gluten/dairy free ones but we thought it would be best to make them in our kitchen to avoid any cross-contamination. I made the gluten/dairy free ones the next day at my house and we also finished packaging them. We filled up the coolers and on Saturday, headed to the High School. We got a really good spot; right in front of the lunch area and pretty much in the middle of everything. We set up two tables, put on table clothes, and placed the scones on the table. The sale started at 9 o'clock and there were people coming right away. Some people recognized us from last time, which was very cool. We all took turns walking around and looking at all he neat crafts that people had made and bought some Christmas presents for friends and family. By the time the sale was done, we had sold only about half the scones, which was slightly disappointing, but we were very very grateful for what we had sold and couldn't be more grateful! But, we had to decide what to do with all the leftover scones! We decided that the next week, we would set a table out at our church and try to sell as many as we could. We actually sold most of the scones in just a couple of hours at church! With the leftovers, we divided them between our families and kept them. We ended up raising about $350 which was fantastic! The next step was to buy the fabric. Because of holiday things, we didn't end up going until January. We decided to make 30 tie blankets because then we would have enough money left over to buy the Prayer Bears. We went to Joann Fabrics and found some adorable fabric. We made 10 boy blankets, 10 girl blankets, and 10 neutral. Unfortunately, they didn't have our hearts that we normally put on them and neither did some other stores we looked at. It took us only about 15 minutes to pick the fabric, but a lot longer to get it all cut! We had very patient people cutting our fabric and we would like to thank them very much! We got to explain to them what we are doing and we also talked to some of the people waiting in line behind us. When it came AMAZING because the amount we saved is enough for us to hold another sale. We give all the glory to God and can't thank him enough for what he has done with our organization. Right after we got home, we started working on the blankets. We got them all finished in about 2 weeks and right now we are just waiting for the Prayer Bears to get here and then we'll deliver the blankets. When we do that, I'll upload pictures and tell about how delivering went. Stay tuned!
